WHAT WE DO

The Bite2Go program believes that no child should go hungry. This unique partnership unites two Spokane-area nonprofits, Second Harvest and At The Core, and hundreds of generous community organizations and businesses to provide nearly 10,000 elementary, middle and high school students with food for the weekends. Many of these children would otherwise face chronic food shortages at home; without Bite2Go they would not get enough to eat.

WEEKEND FOOD. LIFETIME TOOLS.

Tens of thousands of children in the Second Harvest service area are food insecure. These hungry kids face poor health outcomes including a higher risk of depression, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. Food insecure kids also face difficult academic outcomes because hungry kids struggle to learn.

The Bite2Go program identifies business, faith and civic organizations with the generosity and capacity to support hungry kids. We empower these organizations to adopt a school and, through Bite2Go, to provide nutritious, shelf-stable, kid-friendly food support for the weekend.
